The first song from Rishi Kapoor’s latest film Sharmaji Namkeen, titled “Ye Luthrey” was released. The song is illustrated on the late veteran star and introduces us to his character BG Sharma. We get to see a glimpse of his post-retirement life, which isn’t wasted sitting on a couch in front of a TV. Instead, he resumed his passion for cooking.
The video for the song, over two minutes long, shows Kapoor chopping vegetables like a pro. He cooks like a master, making the ladies in his group of kittens exclaim in excitement, “Sharma Ji too good.” From the song, it appears that Kapoor’s character is one who knows how to live life to the fullest. In the video, Paresh Rawal is also seen blending into the role of Kapoor. Rishi Kapoor died while filming the film.
The song was sung by Jasbir Jassi. Gopal Datt wrote the lyrics and Sneha Khanwalkar composed the song. Sharing the song on Twitter, Paresh Rawal wrote, “Here is namkeen’s addition to your weekend. #YeLuthrey now.
Apart from Kapoor and Rawal, Sharmaji Namkeen also stars an ensemble cast including Juhi Chawla, Suhail Nayyar, Taaruk Raina, Satish Kaushik, Sheeba Chaddha, and Isha Talwar.
