Guy Fieri returns to Pierogi Mountain restaurant in downtown Columbus

The mayor of flavortown returned to Columbus.

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” on Food Network is set to feature downtown restaurant Pierogi Mountain, 105 N. Grant Ave., on Friday’s episode of “Triple D Nation.” During the show, viewers will see Columbus-born restaurateur Guy Fieri return to the Polish restaurant known for its comfort food, including its much-loved pierogi, homemade sausages, banh mi and more.

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” made regular stops in Columbus, including Ena’s Caribbean cuisineMomo Ghar, Ray Ray’s Pig PitLoops and Sweet Carrot, which closed its restaurant in 2021. Pierogi Mountain will premiere for the second time as part of the show’s 42nd season.

According to Pierogi Mountain, the episode was filmed in February and will premiere Friday at 9 p.m. in a social media post Announcing the episode, the restaurant said it would close early Friday for employee rest and celebration.

The downtown restaurant got its start at Cafe Bourbon Street, a campus bar at 2216 Summit St., before opening its first standalone restaurant in 2020. Pierogi Mountain last year pledged to pay its employed at least $15 per hour and challenged other restaurants to do the same.
