Fight demons and madness with the multiplayer cooperative shooter ‘Nightmare Party’ [Trailer]
3D Realms, New Blood Interactive, and Feardemic unveiled a treasure trove of goodies during the Realms Deep showcase. Not only DreadXP SPOOKWARE get a second episode, but Nightdive’s remaster masters have unveiled the Ridiculous Edition classic 3D FPS Ascension of the Triad!
Kicking off is Episode 2 of SPOOKWARE (Jay and Neil had fun with the first entry), which is available now on Steam, and expands on the story of the three skelebros (Lefti, Midi and Righti) and their latest adventure: being arrested for tax evasion. Picking up in Chapter 4, the skelebros are thrown into a maximum security prison for their crimes. Up to three players will explore the prison and play through themed microgames, all with the goal of designing and executing a daring escape. Chapter 5 sees the trio on a train, showcasing something devilishly unique: full 3D movement, allowing the player to navigate obstacles from a completely new perspective never seen before in the game.
The retro FPS from Blazing Bit Games nightmare reaperwhich was originally released on Steam earlier this year, will now come to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch in early 2023. 3D Realms has also revealed that its 2019 shooter Build Engine Ion Fury gets a sequence called Phantom Fury. Described as a “road movie-inspired first-person shooter,” Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison is back, courtesy of Slipgate Ironworks, and will appear on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2023. This time around, Shelly is equipped with a new bionic arm to unleash powerful abilities, solve environmental puzzles, and explore environments on her way to nab an artifact capable of unprecedented destruction.
Those of you who crave Jasozz Games’ CULTIC won’t have to wait much longer, as the game’s first chapter will hit Steam on October 13, 2022. The first chapter will consist of a 10 level episode filled with abandoned mining towns, cursed catacombs and much more. You’ll also have your fair share of occult fanatics to blast away in glorious pixelated gore. CULTIC will also include a wave-based survival mode inspired by Resident Evil 4“The Mercenaries” and slaughter area. Collect money with each kill and buy weapons, ammo, health and armor between waves. Fight to reach the top of the global leaderboards by mastering multiple difficulties.
Also appearing at the Realms Deep showcase was the Quake Engine ANGER: Aeon of Ruinwhich will finally be released from Early Access on Steam in Spring 2023, as well as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch. The news also comes with a new trailer, showing off a new boss and enemy, as well as new weapons and levels.
Finally, there is Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Editionwhich was first announced two years ago during Realms Deep 2020. Coming to PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch in early 2023, this is being described as “the definitive outing” of the cult classic FPS by original developer and publisher Apogee Entertainment, New Blood Interactive, and of course, the folks at Nightdive Studios. With the original sprites and textures, the Ridiculous Edition will include the added modern conveniences like 4K resolution, 60+ FPS support, cloud saves, increased FOV, and more. The game will include the official Extreme level pack, the fan-favorite expansion The return of the triadand an all-new episode with levels created by the original designers.
