Downstream artists recognized at Art Ambience Fine Art Show – The News Herald

The Art Ambience Art Exhibition and Sale ran from June 29 to May 1 and featured over 80 works by 40 Downriver artists. The miniature section included 20 artists.

The juried art exhibition awarded several prizes. The Best of Show was awarded to Celeste Nantambu for her relaxing acrylic painting, “Evening”. Second place was awarded to Kris Stanek for his innovative mixed media painting, “Engaging & Innovative”. Third place was awarded to experienced watercolourist, Janet Clark, for her colorful painting, “All Tied Up”.

The Artists Choice Award, which was voted on by all participating artists, went to Michael Bollerud, for the pencil drawing ‘Ray of Light’.

Honorable mention ribbons were awarded to Ronald Mitchell for his painting “Ephrata Cloister Kitchen”; Aveda Allen for her acrylic painting, “Carrots”; and Karen Skrocki for her watercolor “Birch Bark”.

Judy Nelms was honored at the event for her more than 30 years of service to the local arts community. As a lifelong supporter of the arts, Nelms has held every board position for every arts group.

She worked tirelessly to present art exhibitions to the public.
