Dalvin Cook left the pitch with an apparent chest injury
Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook suffered a potentially significant injury in Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Cook tried to avoid being tackled, but his upper body twisted abnormally and he immediately fell. Cook seemed to squeeze his chest after falling.

The injury was serious enough that Cook had to be taken off the pitch. The entire Minnesota bench came onto the field to show support as he was taken away.

If Cook is out for a long time, it will be a big blow to the Vikings. The running back is the centerpiece of Minnesota’s offense and appeared to be on course for another 1,000-yard season before injuring himself. Sustainability has always been a question mark for Cook, as he has never played every game in a season during his NFL career.
The 5-5 Vikings are still in the playoff race, but Cook’s injury would be a blow to their playoff hopes.
