City Shares Holiday Recycling Tips
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX – The City’s Solid Waste Department would like to remind everyone that the holidays are a great time to recycle and CLEAN. Here are some tips to help you achieve this.
Recyclable items (belong to the blue carts)
- Cardboard boxes. Remember to flatten before placing in your recycling basket!
- Seasonal mail, vacation catalogs, magazines and newspapers.
- Empty, clean and dry tin and aluminum cans.
- Plastic bottles with lids or caps removed.
Drop off at the JC Elliott transfer station (Hwy 286 to Ayers Street)
- Cooking fat or peanut oil.
- Motor oil, pesticides, paints and cleaners.
- Lithium batteries.
- Glass bottles or containers.
- Computers, printers or scanners.
- Living Christmas trees.
Non-recyclable items (belong to green carts)
- Disposable C, D and AA batteries.
- Holiday ribbons, bows, garlands, fairy lights and ornaments.
- Styrofoam, bubble wrap and padded envelopes.
- Gift boxes, wrapping paper and greeting cards with glitter or foil.
- Wreaths or garlands.
